Wheat germ oil OLVITA is extracted by cold pressing of wheat germs coming from Poland. The low fat content of the wheat germ translates into a low yield of only 2 %. This means that in order to extract 20 kg of oil, 1 tonne of wheat germs (!) must be pressed through. The wheat germ is a storehouse for the most valuable ingredients required for germination of the seed. The strength and natural power enclosed in the wheat germs has become our inspiration for the technology that has made it possible to extract oil without compromising the priceless values of the active substances. Our knowledge and modern technological solutions have made us one of the first companies in Poland to produce this oil.

Wheat germ oil is a unique product and deserves special attention. It is characterised by:

– high unsaturated fatty acid content (83 g/100 g oil)

– high omega-3 fatty acid content (10 g/100 g oil)

– naturally occurring vitamin E (260-310 mg/100 g oil)

– presence of naturally occurring plant sterols in the oil (4395 mg/100 g)

– the presence of naturally occurring octacosanol in the oil (234 mg/100 g).

Linoleic acid (LA) and alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and plant sterols/plant stanols help to maintain healthy blood cholesterol levels. The beneficial effect occurs with an intake of

* 10 g of LA a day;

* 2 g of ALA a day;

* at least 0,8 g plant sterols/plant stanols a day.

Replacing dietary saturated fats with unsaturated fats helps to maintain healthy blood cholesterol levels. Oleic acid is unsaturated fat.

For direct consumption or as an addition to salads, soups, sauces, groats, potatoes or other dishes.

Wheat germ oil has a characteristic intense wheat smell and yellow colour. It can be easily diluted with another, more delicate oil. Due to the fact that it is a 100 % natural product, the taste, colour and smell of the oil may vary from batch to batch. It is not recommended to heat the oil.

Suggested serving is 1 tsp / day.

Storage:

It is important that the oil is stored in a dark, cool place, and after opening in the fridge. At low temperatures, the oil can start to solidify and become cloudy. It is a natural process, fully reversible, not affecting the quality of the product.

This oil has a good, characteristic taste and smell. Due to the fact that it is a 100 % natural product, the taste, colour and smell of the oil may vary from batch to batch.

It is not recommended to heat the oil.
